Canine massage may sound extravagant if you are unfamiliar with it, but there are an overwhelming amount of applications of canine massage and the benefits are immeasurable. Canine massage is much different then just simply petting your dog. Massage is a purposeful manipulation of skin, tissue and muscle which helps improve circulatory systems; facilitating the natural healing abilities of your dog's body.

The positive effects of canine massage reach far beyond just the physical benefits. Canine massage help reduce stress and reestablish the canine-human bond. Canine massage is truly a mind, body & spirit experience!

how the service works

A Natural Environment Pet Care Professional will come to your home and conduct the massage in the place your pet is most comfortable, in his/her natural environment. After arriving we will set-up in an area of your home, with your permission, that best facilitates relaxation. Once the set-up is complete the massage will begin, lasting 30 minutes. We require that you be present for the first massage.

The moment your hands come in contact with a dog he/she has an awareness of your intention and that sensation activates the mind. As the dog explores and discovers the different levels of touch, his/her mind becomes aware and focused staring from the coat then transcends to the connective tissue, muscles, tendons, joints and ligaments where the focus of awareness follows. Through this exploration the mind is relaxed, trust is developed and the canine-human bond is further strengthened.

Massage enhances blood circulation which aids the flow of nutrients to the tissue, aids in moving lymphatic fluid which is responsible for removing waste products and toxins, improves flexibility, reduces arthritic pain, releases endorphins (the body's natural pain killer), improves the immune system and strengthens the body.

Dogs and humans may be different beings, but no other species of animals have been by our side as long as dogs have. There is evidence that the relationship between domesticated dogs and humans is approximately 14,000 years old, but depending what you consider real evidence this relationship could date as far back as 30,000 BC. No matter what, it is fair to say that our canine friends have been there to witness our evolution, protect us and provide us companionship along the way. It is no coincidence or mistake that dogs and humans have shared this relationship, we are both highly sensitive and emotional beings.

Canine massage is the ultimate way for us to cross communication barriers and let our care and compassion from within us touch man's best friend. Through the intention of our touch we are able to transmit love and love is as essential to dogs life as water.
