Maintaining a healthy mind is a balance of nurture and nature. Your pet not only needs the love and affection that only you can give him/her but they also need proper nutrition. The function of the mind needs to be supported by a diet balanced in protein, carbohydrates, fat and essential vitamins and minerals. A diet lacking in any of these items limits the function of the mind.

Your pet's body is made of billions of cells and each one of these cells is responsible for a function: thinking, breathing, blood circulation, digestion, building and repairing damaged muscles. In order for the body to carry out these functions it needs protein, fat, carbohydrates and essential vitamins and minerals. Protein is the material used to make and repair cells, fats and carbohydrates are the energy sources for facilitating this process and the vitamin and minerals (A vitamin is a nutrient that the body requires but cannot make on its own) are what binds the whole process together. Not all proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals are created equally for the body's requirement and because of this the strength and functional efficiency of the cell is only as strong as the quality of the raw materials used to produce it.
